It’s been a tummy-filling weekend! I’ve been eating a lot of pretty good food this weekend with Joe and friends! In fact the food-a-thon started since Thursday at Tarbush, Sunway Pyramid.
On Friday, I went for a launching event at Space, Bangsar. It’s actually a furniture store downtown who deals with high-end and branded furniture. I was invited and Joe decided to tag along for some cocktails and tapas served during the event. As usual they serve my favourite Bombay Sapphire cocktail. I had it once when I attended another event at the same place two months ago. They mixed with some lemon grass that I’m pretty sure coz it is served with it in the glass and I suppose some lime and soda, not too sure about the other ingredients but it’s really really cooling and refreshing! Unique taste that I absolutely love it! We chilled at the place and talk over some furniture along with champagne and great tapas. At the end they brought out some dessert which came from Alexis. It’s this small little tart with pure dark chocolate * I think (which taste great! Gotta find out what’s that soon. So how was the event? I would say pretty alright considering I went with someone this time around and they have my favourite drink.
Later on, QJ the worst ever minded people on earth suddenly came up with an idea of filling up their tummies with some good food to start off the weekend ( though it had started yesterday) so we headed over to Jake’s steak house in Bkt Damansara, just beside Victoria Station. The effect of stopping by at the restaurant makes us wanna go back there so soon. The steak was just too good to be resisted! We had the Black Angus Rib-eye which is awesome. We slam the meat into our stomach and some free dessert made by them. During our meal the lady boss came over to chat with us for a while, probably its our weird couple combination for the night since most of them came with family, real couple or group of friends, or maybe QXnJoe look pretty couply for the boss. But anyway whatever, we had a great meal! =)
On Saturday, the crazy QJ combo decided for another feast at Tony Roma’s. The thought of bursting ourselves with heavy, fat-full American sized serving dinner kept us both ordering ourselves a medium cooked blue CHEESE burger and started of sharing a Kickin’ shrimp and a FULL size Asian Salad with DEEP FRIED chicken tenders and not forgetting the famous killer drink in the US, The COKE! Just as we were waiting anxiously for the food, Eric called up and requested to join us for dinner with a NEW friend of his, Emily who is a Nepalese mix. They arrived when our table is already filled up with the insane portion of food serving on the table. Without considering much, they added a plateful of grilled chicken along with another FULL size salad to the party along with COKEs as well. The end of the meal? Lotsa left over by the newcomers. QJ indeed did follow the tight rules of finishing up their meal. Eat Responsible!
After a series of food, on a rainy Sunday afternoon QX and Eric headed to Kuchai Lama to join Suki, Abbi and Jess for some fish head noodles. This shop serves good Fish head noodles which require a long line during weekday’s lunch. I’ve seen the line for weekdays but didn’t experience it so yet. You guys should try though =) Anyway nothing much about this meal, right after that I went for some Mahjong learning session at Suki’s place. It’s actually my first time playing Mahjong and I did pretty well for a beginner I think. Played for several rounds while we wait for the most wanted Joe to arrive and plan for dinner. The group decided to go for some local cheras food so we went to a Claypot Chicken rice place. They serve different kinds of Claypot rice, from the standard to Nyonya. We ordered the normal, Nyonya and “Nam Yu” (it’s like some fermented bean sauce). Overall the food was just ok! Nothing so fantastic for my taste bud.
I suppose you all have enough to read; now here are some pictures to tone the wordings down! Cheers and ta.
